It can be quite the struggle can't it? Wearing an outfit, posting a picture of that outfit on your social media and having everyone see it. Great, now what? Can't wear it again for a little bit, and now you're already planning your next shopping spree. I'm here to stop you from grabbing your wallet and making a spontaneous trip to the mall only to spend endless money on clothes. I'll be the first to admit that I used to be like this. I would constantly have the urge to spend a massive amount of money on clothes that I would only wear once and then either never wear it again, or wait months until it would be worn again. Look, I want you to take a second and think about the clothes you own in your closet. Can they be mixed and matched? Can they be layered up? Do you have items in there that you aren't even aware that you owned? Chances are, you've answered yes to at least one of these questions. So let's get started! Here are three ways to revive your closet without spending ANY money!!

1. As i've mentioned above... MIX AND MATCH!! You must own different pants that can be matched with different tops! YOU MUST!!! I've now repeated the same shirts and pants on my instagram by mixing and matching my tops and bottoms. Chances are, people won't even notice that it's the same top or pant because they're matched differently. They ultimately become a whole new outfit. People will observe and admire the way your outfits are co-ordinated. I normally enjoy resorting to crop-tops because when they are worn with different pants, the whole appearance of your outfit stands out. If you see my picture above with the white crop top and those flared out colourful pants, can you picture the look of the outfit with just regular black high waisted pants? That's a whole new outfit right there just sayin! You don't HAVE to own black high waisted pants, but what i'm saying is that you can definitely switch up your look and make it appear different by mixing and matching! I also find that the way you do your hair or the way you choose to accessorize with that outfit can make a HUGE difference. Things stand out more or less depending on how you decide to portray them. It is also very important to pick your focal point with your outfit. If you're going for a soft elegant look then your hair is down like the first picture above with my black dress. If you're going for a sharp look then hair up, high pony, hoop earrings etc. The black dress I have on can appear different just by the way I accessorize. If my hair was in a high pony with big hoop earrings, my outfit itself would appear completely different. Lastly, you can also layer up like wearing different cardigans you own, blazers, etc. to also make your outfit appear different!

2. THE BUDDY SYSTEM!! If not a sibling, then a friend! You must have at least ONE friend who can lend you an outfit! If not lend, then you and your friends or siblings should clean out your closet regularly and go through the clothes you would like to get rid of. One mans trash is another mans treasure! I am 99.9% sure you will fall in love with a clothing item that one of your buddies are willing to get rid of. Don't spend so much money buying clothes if you know you won't re-wear it often. Trust me, the buddy system is the most effective way to save money. Regularly do some closet clean outs so you can trade with your friends. It doesn't even have to be a permanent trade. I love it when my sister comes to me with big bag of clothes. It's like a shopping spree but without the having to spend money part!! This also leads me to my last point.

3. Clear out your wardrobe!!! This might sound funny to you. How will getting rid of clothes help you find more things to wear? Well let me tell you something- every time I clear out my closet, I find clothes that I've forgotten I owned. That outfit then becomes brand new to me. You might think you know everything you own, but it's not until you fully clear out your closet and get rid of some clothes that you find brand new clothes in the mix! I guarantee you'll look through your closet and think to yourself "oh look, I forgot i've owned this." Trust me, this is probably one of the most useful tips! I've found so much new clothes that I've forgotten I owned because I would just constantly buy new clothes without even thinking twice about what I already have!

There you have it. Your closet is now revived and you haven't spent a cent! I hope this blog post helped you.
